TRANSPARENCY IS PART OF THE PRODUCT

Know what’s behind your report.

Useful information, clearly sourced. Every report makes the limits visible.

NHTSA vPIC

Manufacturer-submitted VIN specifications

Year, make, model, reported trim, engine, drivetrain and plant details. Canadian equipment and trim names can differ. Missing equipment fields do not mean the equipment is absent.

Transport Canada

Canadian recall campaigns

Model-name and model-year searches, plus campaign summaries. Related variants may appear. This does not determine VIN applicability or repair completion. Non-safety recalls may be absent.

NHTSA

U.S. recalls, complaints and crash tests

Model-year information. Owner complaints are unverified and cannot establish failure rates. Ratings apply to the selected tested configuration, not every Canadian trim.

U.S. DOE / EPA

Fuel economy and tailpipe emissions

Configuration-specific U.S. estimates, converted to L/100 km, kWh/100 km and g/km where appropriate. Costs use your own Canadian price and distance assumptions.

Canada Drives verified market guide price

Your Prism Buyer Report includes a Canada Drives verified market guide price, valid for 7 days.* Use it as a price reference when comparing the vehicle and planning your purchase.

Your report shows the price, issue date, expiry date and applicable terms together, so you can see exactly what the guide price covers.

* Valid for 7 days from the issue date. See your report for the expiry date and applicable Canada Drives terms. A market guide price is a reference, not a guaranteed offer to purchase your vehicle.

How the Buyer Report is written

VinPrism organizes source results into inspection prompts, seller questions and transparent calculations. A complaint is not a diagnosis. No reliability score, failure probability or repair-cost prediction is invented from raw complaint counts.

Availability and freshness

Each report records its retrieval time. Public source responses may be cached for up to 24 hours. Sources can be delayed, incomplete or temporarily unavailable. A report is a snapshot; later records and updates are not automatically added to a purchased copy.
